Coconut shells, which traditionally used to be either burned or discarded as landfill, are turned into these beautiful bowls by local craftspeople. They are employed at ethical workshops in Vietnam and Indonesia at above Fair Trade Standards.
The bowls are food safe, reusable and can last a lifetime. Every coconut bowl is unique with its own shape, size, markings and imperfections.
They are perfect for your morning muesli, smoothie, salad and snacks.
How to care for your bowl: It is important to care for your bowl, as it is a 100% natural product and it will ensure a long life. These bowls should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold (i.e. do not put them in the oven, microwave or the fridge) as they may crack. Hand wash with lukewarm soapy water and allow to air dry. Do not put in the dishwasher or soak for long periods of time. Polish your bowl every 10 or so uses with Coconut oil or any other vegetable oil of your choice. This will restore its smooth and shiny surface and reseal its pores.
Use: Use them for eating your cool or room temperature food (e.g. breakfast cereal with milk, fruit & yoghurt, muesli, smoothies etc). Do not use them for hot food.
