Q: What are Beeswax Wraps?

A: They are an eco-friendly option to using cling wrap, made from cotton fabric and infused with either beeswax or plant wax mix.Β 


Q: How do I use my wraps?

A: You use them wherever you would use cling wrap.  They are ideal for wrapping up fruit, veggies, cheese, bread, nuts, sandwiches and covering plates and bowls.


Q: What is the best way to wrap my food?

A: I always wrap any food item on the diagonal, this way you will get better coverage with your wrap.


Q: Can I wash my wrap in the dishwasher or the washing machine?

A: No you cannot. This is because the key ingredient used to coat the wrap is wax & it will melt upon exposure to heat.


Q: How do I wash the wraps?

A: Just wash them in cold water with a little detergent, rinse and air dry.


Q: Do the wraps need to be stored in the fridge?

A: No, once they are dry, roll or fold them up and store in your drawer or a cupboard.


Q: How long will my wrap last?

A: Depending on usage & care, your wrap should last you many months: 12 months is not unusual!


Q: How do I dispose of my wrap once it no longer works?

A: You just put it into the green waste or you can bury it in your garden.  Because it is natural, it is biodegradable!


Q: Can I put my wrap in the Microwave?

A: No you cannot. This is because the key ingredient used to coat the wrap is wax & it will melt upon exposure to heat and shorten the life of your wrap.


Q: Can I wrap a sandwich with meat in it?

A: Yes you can, as long as the meat is not in direct contact with the wrap, it is fine.


Q: Can I wrap meat in my wrap?

A: No, you cannot wrap raw meat or fish in your wrap as the wrap can only be washed in cold water.  It, therefore, cannot be sterilised and the risk of bacterial cross-contamination is always present from these foods.
